What am I working on? That seems like a loaded question nowadays. The answer is, a lot.
Over the past twelve months, I have drafted at least six new books, each the start of a series. I have cycled through this group and moved each one to the next stage as I went. I am very much a go with the flow person and very attached to moving with the seasons. Because of this, I am letting my heart work through what feels right, while still attempting to apply some logic of business.
This is all on top of being a mom of three, a part time job, and farming. All of these things are beautiful additions to my life and I’m incredibly grateful for the time I have to write.
My current work in progress is a fantasy book, of course. It is the story of a young woman, Kitsey, at the edge of a life crisis who discovers she is the main focus of a prophecy of magic. Evil witches are close at hand trying to steal her power and will stop at nothing to capture her. The story is full of supernatural goodness, shifters, werewolves, fairies, and so much magic! Don’t forget a little love. This book may turn out to be young adult, but has some dark scenes that may not make that appropriate.
I’m hoping to finish this soon and send it to literary agents. I’m jumping into the world of traditional publishing.
Wish me luck!
Jess
